Join EUCF at the Smart City Expo World Congress

The European Commission organises a joint presence of 26 European and international urban initiatives and projects under the heading “EU for resilient green cities” at this year’s  Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC), again showcasing Europe’s commitment to resilient, inclusive, and smart urban transformation

The SCEWC is the world’s leading event for urban innovation, attracting over 25,000 participants from more than 150 countries annually.  

The Commission’s expo stand will serve as a hub for networking, knowledge exchange, and showcasing cutting-edge solutions in energy, mobility, digitalisation, and citizen engagement. Each of the 26 partners will contribute to a rich programme of booth sessions, panel discussions, and interactive exhibits designed to inspire and inform. 

The initiatives and projects represented at the European Commission’s includes for example, the Smart Cities Marketplace (coordinator), CINEA, CIVITAS, European Green Capital / European Green Leaf Awards, European Capital of Innovation Awards (iCapital), Global Covenant of Mayors and many more. 

The joint presence at SCEWC 2025 will include various activities:

  • Congress & Agora Sessions: Addressing relevant EC policies and cross-cutting topics, focusing on scaling up solutions across cities.

  • Stand Representation: Featuring an engaging booth program with sessions organised by attending projects and initiatives, supplementing and reinforcing the cross-cutting topics presented in Agora sessions.
  • Networking Spaces: Facilitating interaction with and promotion of the services of each partner project/initiative.

Impacts of the European City Facility

Location: EU Stand, Hall 2, Level 0, Street D, Stand 101

Description:

A small session presenting and discussing the impact of the European City Facility, which has provided 60 000 EUR to more than 400 local governments and authorities - or groupings of of these - to develop investment concepts for clean energy or energy efficiency action.

Pioneering Urban Energy Efficiency and Innovative Solutions

5 November 2025, 16:10–16:55

Location: Clean Cities Stage

Description:

This session showcases pioneering EU initiatives that bring energy efficiency, innovative services, and sustainable urban solutions into practice. Experts will share concrete cases from urban energy management, efficiency, optimization, and sustainable energy services followed by an interactive debate on synergies and replication opportunities.
